GUAC VS HOLAFLY
Same Networks. Same Coverage.
You Choose the Price.
Both Guac and Holafly connect to the same local carriers worldwide. The difference? Guac lets you pay for what you actually use, or choose your own unlimited plan with a daily quota you control. Holafly charges $27+ for "unlimited" data most travelers never use.
How much can you save?
Typical 7-day trip, 5 GB of data. That's enough for maps, messaging, social media, and some streaming. Most travelers don't use more.
Based on Holafly's 7-day unlimited plan vs Guac's 5 GB / 30 day plan. Most travelers use 3-5 GB per week. Prices verified March 2026.
Not sure how much data you need? Try our data calculator"Unlimited" doesn't mean what you think.
Both Guac and Holafly offer unlimited data plans. The difference is what happens behind the scenes.
Daily Speed Limit
"Unlimited" with no disclosed daily high-speed quota. Independent testing shows speeds drop from 7 MB/s to under 1 MB/s after 2-5 GB/day. Holafly blames "network operators."
You choose your daily high-speed quota: 500 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB, 3 GB, 5 GB, or 10 GB/day. After the quota, you stay online at reduced speeds. Resets every 24 hours.
Guac tells you. Holafly hides it.
Hotspot / Tethering
Hotspot capped at 1 GB per day. Confirmed on every Holafly product page: "Share 1 GB of data per day." A 7-day plan = only 7 GB shareable total.
Full data shareable via hotspot. No daily cap. All your purchased data or your full daily unlimited quota can be tethered.
Guac: share everything. Holafly: 1 GB/day max.
What You Pay For
One price, no choice. $3.90/day whether you use 500 MB or 5 GB. No standard (fixed GB) option exists.
Two plan types. Standard: buy exactly the GB you need at full speed, no throttling. Unlimited: choose your daily high-speed quota and pay accordingly. You're in control.
Guac gives you options. Holafly gives you one product.
Throttling data from TechRadar, Cloudwards, eSIMDB. Hotspot cap from Holafly's own product pages.
Fixed data plans: pay for what you use.
Guac's standard plans give you a set amount of data at full 4G/5G speed. No throttling, no fine print. When your data is used up, it stops. Simple.

Holafly does not offer fixed data plans. All Holafly prices are for their "unlimited" plans. Guac standard plans include full 4G/5G speed with zero throttling.
Want unlimited? Choose your speed. Save up to 78%.
Both Guac and Holafly offer unlimited data with a daily high-speed allowance. After it's used up, you stay online at reduced speeds. The difference: Guac tells you exactly how much high-speed data you get per day, and lets you pick. Holafly doesn't.
Holafly's per-day rate is calculated from their 7-day plan (e.g., $27.30 / 7 = $3.90/day). Independent testing shows Holafly throttles after roughly 2-5 GB/day, but they never disclose the exact number.

A note about "reviews" online.
If you've searched for Holafly reviews, you've probably noticed that almost every blog post and YouTube video includes a Holafly discount code. That's because Holafly runs one of the largest affiliate programs in the eSIM industry, paying up to 10% commission on every sale. We have an affiliate program too. The difference is that we don't need paid reviews to make our case. The price comparison tables above do that. Compare the numbers and decide for yourself.
