How to install on Android

Before you start

  • Check your device supports eSIM (most flagship Android phones from 2020 onward).
  • Connect to Wi-Fi.
  • Install before you travel for a smoother experience.

Installation steps

  1. In the Guac app, go to Open the eSIM > Install > Install Now.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts.

Installing from Guac hands the profile straight to Android, so there is nothing to type and no QR code to scan.

If the in-app install does not finish

The QR code and the manual details live under Open the eSIM > Install > Other ways to install > QR Code > Manual Entry. Add them on the device:

  • Most Android phones: Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs > Add eSIM.
  • Samsung: Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Add eSIM. Samsung asks for the SM-DP+ address and the activation code separately, which is what Manual Entry splits out.

At your destination

  1. Open Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs.
  2. Select your travel eSIM.
  3. Turn on Data Roaming.
  4. Set it as the preferred network for mobile data.

Troubleshooting

If data is not working:

  • Toggle Airplane Mode on and off.
  • Restart your phone.
  • Make sure the eSIM is selected as your data SIM, not your home SIM.
